sentences that make me cry / selected poems

i’m not sure why it took so long to realize

i am special

i don’t believe myself to be unique. i don’t believe my thoughts are a fingerprint in a wide universe. i am not the first person to think maybe there could be a meaning behind the way someone picks their mug.

i do believe myself to be genuine.
i believe myself to be a ring on a mighty oak, i will take my place in line for the next go around , the next epoch, my next turn.
i believe myself to be the vines growing on an old brownstone. grateful to be exposed to the world’s greatness.

i don’t think being unique makes someone special. fine, be the one to set yourself apart because the part disgusts you.

i know that i am special because i bend in the wind. i am the sea floor, supporting what is mean to be atop and below me. there is so shame in being like those who you admire and those who you trust.

we are all trying to be humanity, why can’t we be it together.

life is a set

and i’m the best damn dresser you ever met
i’ll tie up the loose ends
by making a mess
a perfectly round wine stain on her
white
satin
dress

sentences that make me cry

spilling your coffee in the morning is good luck
